Missile Command Remix Contest: Vote Now!
One of the first things that needs to get done is getting this remix contest finished up. As such, we’ve listened to the many remixes that we’ve received, and are having the toughest time making up our minds as to which one we like the best. Therefor, we’re going to let you all vote on it. We’ve narrowed it down to twelve. So, take a listen to each of them, and reply to this post with the number of the remix you like the best! Well, here’s my criticism thus far.. Salty Flavor’s remix was AWESOME right off the bat. Unfortunately, it was a bit too long and the second half of the song lost it’s punch, as it didn’t have the amazing vocals and arrangement from the beginning. Pete’s is good, I said that long ago when I first heard it. The dec-infected mix is badass, but it takes too long to get moving forward. The Sea of Tranquility mix is good, but way too long. Could be summed up in about 3 minutes. Remix 10 of I Know You sounds like the original song with a pitch shifter, and the drums run through a hallway of reverb. TOO MUCH reverb. Remix 1 of FTS/I Know You is again, way too long. Great concept, though. Remix 2 of Andromeda8 is good but sounds too much like the original. Remix 3 of Have You Done This Before? – makes excellent use of the samples, however it doesn’t seem to punch well, and has too many silent parts. Remix 4 of Have You…? is way too short and could have had more of a progression to it. Remix 8 of Have…? is a bit too minimal but still a good Techno effort and quite dancy… and it’s nicely dystopian in a way. Remix 9 was OK, but definitely didn’t sound mixed right and contained too much of the original song. So, in summary, I liked Salty Flavor a LOT and I also liked the dec-infected mix… and of course Pete’s just because Pete is rad – but it could use some serious mastering.
I vote for #5!
I do like them all, but I listen to #6 the most so my vote goes to #6!
Maybe a tad bit late, but my vote goes to the dec-infected remix (#6), great use of the vocals!
